Event 2

Teachers using innovative learning spaces well

Findings from four years of research (The ILETC Project)

November 15th (PM) – 16th
University of Melbourne
StudioFive, Level 5, 234 Queensberry Street, CARLTON.

What do we know about helping teachers to use innovative learning spaces well? Four years of intensive research in the ILETC project (Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change) has built an extensive body of evidence, strategies, and resources.  This event will share those findings, and identify the ‘what’s next’ – what new knowledge is now needed.

The Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change project finished its work in early 2020 at the start of COVID. More than two and a half years later, we can now publicly discuss what was found, and engage in conversations on how to build on that knowledge.

We invite all to join us in an event that does indeed ‘wrap up’ ILETC, but more importantly, it uses the project’s findings to look to the future.  What research should be next?  How can ILETC inform effective collaborations between educators, industries and academics? What international implications arose from ILETC?

Focus

The ‘wrap-up’ event has two foci – we will hear the results of ILETC and launch its final report and ‘legacy’ website.  It will also use short presentations from its key participants to explore ‘what’s next?’  What has this exciting four years of international research shown us about future research that directly addresses the needs of its Partner Organisations?

This will be done in four ways:

  • Release of ILETCs resources and supporting bodies of evidence
  • Presentations from the project’s 8 PhD graduates
  • Presentation from many of ILETCs 17 national and international Partner Organisations
  • Sessions on ‘where to next?’, including discussion of findings from ILETC’s COVID offspring – the Innovative Learning Environments and Student Experience (ILE+SE) scoping study.

Organisation

This event is open to the public for a small cost (to cover catering).  ILETC Partner Organisations, PhDs, and invited guests will not be charged.  The event will encourage ‘future-oriented’ discussions; while presentations will be organised, these will be used to encourage attendee’s discussion on where ILETC is leading us.

Contacts
